I'll be honest, I had heard from various people that French food was not the tastiest. That doesn't mean that it isn't good, but I came to France almost expecting the food to be very bland. On Saturday night, February 17, we went to this cafe near the Musee d'Orsay. I was so excited to order authentic French food. We (Ashley, Morgan and I) shared escargot. Ashley had had it before but Morgan and I were slightly nervous. It was not as bad as I thought. The first escargot I ate was good but the next was pretty thick and chewy. I'm glad I tried it and now know what it tastes like! I also ordered French onion soup, something I really like back in the states, so of course I had to try it here in France! This French onion soup is by far the best I have had. It was crunchy at first spoonful and then turned to a nice, warm liquid halfway through. Once my spoon hit the bottom, I got a hint of cream based soup. I was shocked at how one bowl of soup could have such different consistency all while maintaining the same flavor. It was seriously to die for!
